How Do I Make My Login Secure?

I have a laptop with Windows XP. Occasionally a family member or friend wants to use it. How can I set up a friend account or a password that has to be used in order to access my information only? Thanks for your help!

Start> Control Panel> User accounts: here, find you account and tick "create a password".

Make it 7 characters, nothing obvious; and nothing guessable.

For anyone else (especially a visitor) have them on the 'Guest Account', which you turn on in this User Accounts section also.

If you allow them anything else, they may be able to fiddle with your settings, and it almost always leads to problems.

All websites on the internet would not have "comfortable login" as an alternative. Ones that do routinely let you know this manner. I've best spotted it a couple of instances, however do not financial institution, or retailer so much on-line. It's a remindernotice that they have got safety gear up & operating. Once I found out in which to click on I used to be OK.
