Xbox features Vs Ps3 features?

Having owned the xbox 360 and wii i wondered if the ps3 has an achievement system just like the xbox does?

Also what features does the ps3 have over xbox other than having wireless built in and bluetooth and also blu-ray are there any features that i should know of or will find interesting compared to the wii and xbox 360?

Please anyone who owns a ps3 can you give me detailed reponse about features and achievement structure if there is one on the ps3 that is.

Also im not sure whether to go for the 120gb or 250gb version i do have lot of blu-ray discs and i was wondering if you can burn them onto the hard drive of the ps3?

Is it really worth paying more for a larger hard drive, would i use all the space?

I buy about 6 games a month so base the space required on those exact specifications please

Thanks for all your help ps3 fans. i think xbox is now in decline and the only thing good about microsoft now is the games for windows live game and the new operating system windows 7

    Ok, here it goes

    1. Yes the ps3 has an achievment system, they are called trophies.

    2. The ps3 has a cell processor, free online play, and a far lower failure rate than the 360

    3. Trophies come in different types, bronze trophies are easy to obtain, silver trophies require more effort, gold trophies require something hard be done such as beating the game on a high difficulty level, and platinum trophies usually require that all other trophies for a game be earned. The trophy system uses experience levels instead of a number score like gamerscore points. It works like an RPG, the higher level you get, the more trophies you need to go up another level. The higher the trophy, the more "experience" you get from it.

    4. You can only install games that require an installation. When you put in the disc it will tell you that it must be installed, if it needs to. If it doesn't, the game will start normally. You can't save movies that are on a disc to the system if that is what you meant by "a lot of blu-ray discs". You can only save movies that you buy on the psn store. A 120gb should suffice, unless you plan on downloading a lot of games, demos, movie, etc.

    5. I have an 80gb that isnt full yet, and i have a decent library of games, so a 120gb should be fine. If you do need a larger HDD in the future, you can pick up pretty much any laptop HDD and use it in your ps3. The process for changing out HDDs is simple, and it WON'T void your warranty, as they tell you how to do it in the system's manual.

    6. It depends on the game. If it requires installation, it will take up more. The biggest game I've seen is Fallout 3, which takes up about 4gb of space. Some games require very little space. Check the back of the box, that will tell you how much space it takes up. But like I said, if you need a bigger HDD, just get any laptop HDD and put it in your system.

    Hope that helps.

To start out with i do not own a Wii, but i do own a 360. And in my opinion, PS3 is far better than the 360

The PS3 does have an achievement system AKA "trophies"

It also has free online gaming. Now I've heard ppl say that this sucks compared to Live, but honestly i notice no difference, except the free part of course lol. Also the Slim CANNOT play PS2 games. Now here's the wierd part. It play PSOne game discs fine (just discovered this last night).

I havent really got to experience the achievements, or 'trophies' yet.

I went ahead and got the 250gb because you only pay $50 more to get a double sized hard drive. I thought it'd be worth it. And I don't think you can rip blu-rays onto the PS3 (copyright/pirating issues)

    Hope that helps!

PS3, in my opinion, has a better achievement system. There's Bronze, Silver and Gold. If you complete them all, you get a Platinum. It's better in my opinion because with Gamer scores, you just see a random number like 10,605. With "Trophy's" you can see how many bronze [easy], silver [medium] and gold [hard] trophy a person gets. Also you can see how many Platinums someone has meaning completeted a whole game.

Difference in features is there's no party chat/cross voice chat. Sony is implementing it in the future though, we do not know if it will be free or not. Sony is going to release PSN Premium next year, meaning you pay for extra features. The PSN we have now [free Online gaming, free demos, free internet browser] will always be free.

I would not say 250GB is a better choice. I have to 80GB and I have a TON of games and I still have yet to fill it up. But with you buying 6 games a month... I think 250GB might be enough for you.

Finally, I highly recommend you looking into these games if you get a PS3:

    Uncharted 2

    inFamous

    Demon's Souls

    Assassin's Creed 2

    PSN games:

    Super Stardust HD

    PixelJunk Monsters

    PixelJunk Shooter

    Flower

    5. no batteries needed for the controllers

    6. its cheaper to upgrade the hard drive than it is for xbox
