Are you suppose to take Christmas decorations down before or after New Years?

I just took all my Christmas decorations down because a few people told me don't let the New Year's catch you with your decorations up but granny says it's bad luck and I will have bad luck throughtout the year. Should I not worry about it or put some decorations back up?

If you live in a western democracy, you can take them down anytime you want. Most ppl take them down a few days after Christmas or the first weekend after Jan.1. A few (not many) think it's bad luck to leave them up after New Year's day. Don't worry about it and don't put them back up unless you really want to. Trust in Jesus and read about him in the Bible (John chapter 3 is a good place to start) and also Luke Chap. 2 (the first Christmas).

I take mine down after Epiphany witch is January 6th

Traditionally, Epiphany (6th January) is the end of Christmas, and I think decorations should stay up until then. In medieval times they used to keep them up until February. However, I don't suppose it really matters if you want to take yours down earlier.
