What is your ideal economic system? Why? What would an ideal economy look like to you?

My own ideals can be boiled down to a simple but contradictory-sounding sentence: I'd like to see the goals of communism achieved through the methods of democratic-libertarian free markets. In other words, in my ideal world there would be equality AND freedom, minimal government, no need for welfare programs, no homelessness, maximum employment, and every form of environmentally harmful production and consumption would be taxed heavily to provide incentives for conservation and efficient technologies.

To achieve what I've listed above would require an economic system that doesn't exist and has never been tried. It's probably impossible. So the next best alternative, to me, is to settle for democratic free market socialism such as is practiced in most EU nations and Canada. Unfortunately, there is no nation that has been able to achieve environmentally and socially benevolent goals without restrictions being placed by government on the freedoms of entrepreneurs and individuals. Could modifications of tax codes be used, instead of mandates and regulations, to achieve these goals without sacrificing the liberties of businesses and consumers?

One where individuals have freedom to maximize their well being through voluntary transactions with others. This would be opposite of one where a group of Wise Men think they can engineer outcomes by distorting the marketplace. Sounds like you include yourself in that group.

    Ideal Economic System

Its a hard question given the fact it's to late because of one flaw the money system is one of them monetary system has many flaws like who keeps tracks of the banking system? are we sure that it is safe, are sure we are not played out by the banking community? how does the black market work? who are involved?... sadly that's the fact we don't dare to ask question and instead live our life saying "It's not my god-damned business.

Even how many economic reforms we make the on the economic system of the world we cannot achieve stability. After 3-10 years markets collapse. But why? (I don't know either). I thing is certain the world is dominated by capitalist way of thinking ("The strongest survive the weak perish").

Some proposed communism/socialism in other countries but failed. The system is good but very hard to implement due to other countries opposing it because it contradicts the capitalist way of distribution of goods and services. Although branded as a failed economic system, at-least it cared for the people.

Capitalist economic system disguises philanthropic organizations like foundations and others as way to cut down taxes for their companies. Should it be the responsibilities of the government be passed to the corporations (I think not).

To cut the long story short a perfect economics system should have the following traits:

    1) Has free and controlled educational system.

    2) Has free medical system.

    3) Has incentive based payment of labor instead of the monetary based system.

    4) Has free housing projects.

    5) Best security system not necessarily meant totalitarian system.

    6) Has job allocations and job forecasting.

    7) Free staple food and free water system not necessary meant high end food.

    8) Has provision of competition based markets.

    9) Doesn't sell lands built for agriculture.

    10) Cares for the environment.

    11) Physical monetary system is abolished and replaced by non monetary and logged to a central database to limit scrupulous transactions like drug dealing and prostitution, etc.

    12) Has a controlled vices system.

    13) All transaction should be stored in the system.

    14) Justice system based on moral and cultural values.

    15) All "want"are purchased via incentive system and almost all needs are free.

    16) Forest and seas are allocated accordingly.

    17) All mountain terrain are off-limits to people who would do business ventures.

    17) Seas are cleaned and monitored accordingly.

    18) Mining are prohibited except on the sea floor.

    19) Taxes are dealt width accordingly.

    20) Businesses are controlled and assessed accordingly.

I believe the only perfect economic system is communism. All others rely on a considerable amount of chance. Assuming you were the all powerful dictator of your country, of course your modifications to socialism could work.
