how can you tell fake MAC products from the real thing?

I've heard there are fake MAC brushes and make-up out there, but I wouldn't know what to look for.

do not buy from ebay or brush111,com. those two websites are fake! ebay isn't always fake, but it does rip people off a lot. mac never sells brushes with the makeup. ever. you can watch youtube videos also to see other examples. the one i've seen is by juicystar07. but there are a lot of others (:

It's fake. I recently bought a cream gel eyeliner from downtown LA with the same pattern for only 2 bucks and the seller told me its made in mexico but its real... bullshit. Mac doesnt make patternly pallets like that plus the shapes of the eyeshadows r different and no appilcator is included in the real one. However, if its cheap try it because its not as bad as u think

Well I recommend buying the brushes at MAC or CCO.and real MAC products don't come with mini Brushes inside.

If you purchase them from Nordstrom, Macy's or the MAC Store, you KNOW they're authentic. I would not recommend buying from Ebay or anywhere else because the fakes are so good, you can't tell them apart from the regular until you've used them for a few weeks and then it's too late...
