A matter of Requiems.?

So ... whose Requiem (Dvořák, Verdi, Fauré, Mozart, etc.) to you enjoy listening to the most? Do you enjoy Giuseppe Verdi's Sanctus, or Gabriel Fauré's Sanctus? So on.

I love Verdi's, and I only recently listened to the whole thing about a week ago. His choice of chords and his placement of such chords is brilliant.

    Britten - War Requiem

    Holmboe - Requiem for Nietzsche

Preisner - Requiem for my Friend

    Reicha (Rejcha) - Requiem

    Schnittke - Requiem

    Erkki-Sven Tüür - Requiem

I also like the Durufle and Brahms's Requiems :) and Poulenc's Gloria...in terms of masses. I like Faure's. I've only heard Bruckner's once but it was amazing!

    I'm partial to Robert Moran's

"Requiem: Chant du Cygne" (1989) for four SATB choruses and four instrumental ensembles.

Neither truly minimalist or avant-garde, it is a beautiful and moving piece of choral-orchestral music.

    Best regards.
