Birth control newbie, Id like some information on what would be best for me please!?
Im 21, and have had my period since I was 13 or so.. Ive also always had mild acne on my face and back (incredibly annoying/embarassing), and my cycle is anywhere from 3 weeks and 2 days to 4 weeks and 6 days (not exactly regulated)..
I dont know anything about birth control.. I dont mind having a period if I will know pretty much exactly when Im going to get it, I dont know how I feel about not having one though.. Doesnt seem like it would be exactly good for my body.. I want no shots, or anything really pricey.. Im not above popping the pill everyday, or even maybe using a patch.. And I dont want to gain any weight either, I know some girls get that nice side effect sometimes lol.. SOMEONE HELP MEEE!! Give me some suggestions or something lol I am so clueless...
There are not only 12-13 year olds on here! Ive seen plenty of intelligent people on Y!A who give great answers.. Anyone else who isnt going to help me out, just dont even bother leaving an answer geeze!
Im just looking for a general idea of what girls use.. Not saying Im going to pick the first one I see, I just want to know whats what =)

A doctor or pharmacist will gladly give you all of your birth control options.
Many women use a vaginal ring (Nuvaring), with another popular one being the patch. These are pretty popular because you don't have to worry about missing doses.

Ask your doc about a vaginal ring. I tried several different forms of birth control for more or less the same reasons, but all of the oral ones turned me into a crazy person! I was PMSing all month long. I was on Nuvaring for a few months though, and didn't have any negative hormonal side effects, and my skin is a lot clearer and my cycle was nice and regular. I still had breakouts during my period but the rest of the month is was a lot better. I did gain a couple of pounds though, but it wasn't much....maybe 5 ? But I also had holidays, my entire family's birthdays, and two very stressful situations to deal with, so it may not have been the contraception that packed on the pounds.....! Good luck.

Ok I guess that I am going to get the thumbs down to. I Agree with Go Wings. You do need to speak to a Dr about this not some 12 to 13 yr old that is going to give you a bad answer and put you on the wrong path..

This is a question for your Dr. There are so many different kinds of birth Control out there and the all act and work in different ways. Sorry but not a question you want to put in here and hope to get the right answer.
