Can someone give me any Victorian era historical events?
I am making a historical novel. It's my project. and i need a historical event in the Victorian era. like some wars, crusades, revolutions that can be associated with feudalism.
my story revolves around a girl named Nikola (ah, can anyone give me a good surname too) who is a very scary girl that lives in a land owned by Conrart's family (nikola's love interest). as the story goes on, they eventually discovers that Nikola was actually the heir to a very rich man and needs to leave the land. then after some time, Conrart wants to prove himself to be a very worthy man and goes on a (revolution, war, crusade, help! i really need this event!) but, he does not know that Arthur, Nikola's "brother" was actually his brother. and Conrart's mom ,who wants a good relationship with Nikola's treasures needs a son to be engaged with Nikola. but, since conrart was gone to that event, nikola married arthur. and conrart dies on that event.
phew. now that's over. i chose, victorian era because by that time life was much easier. than that in the 1200, and also: are glasses invented by then?
please please i really really need this event! and can someone give me some surnames suggestions that are appropriate for my characters and their status. and please tell me if u have some story alikes. thanks.
thank you. and no rude answers please.
and please don't copy/misjudge my story.
the place will be in england/germany and are eyeglasses made already in the victorian era?

Feudalism was over for over 200 years before Queen Victoria, though it was still going on in Russia. There were no English serfs by her coronation in 1837.
During Victoria's reign, though, the Empire fought wars in the Crimea Peninsula, in Sudan, in China during the Boxer rebellion, in India during the Sepoy Rebellion, in South Africa during the Boer Wars, and all over the world.
It's hard to conquer, occupy, and steal the resources of most of the world!
