I need to know what the area is like, average rent or mortgage payments, availability of jobs, school ratings, etc.
I have asthma and would like a warm dry climate to live in. I also have children who are still in school.

you can try something like those quizzes which propose to find a place you'd like to live:

or
don't know if there are more on web, you could search and compare.
Though don't know why you don't like Arizona, I've lived there and thought it was great. And Tucson has some really good schools.

If I had a choice I would move back to Raleigh, NC where I lived for 1 year. I loved that city, I loved that state. I could name dozens of reasons but I am lazy ;) But its beautiful out there, state laws seem to be so much more friendlier than in Virginia and property costs are low.
