Superbowl vs Pro bowl?

Why did the NFL say that players going to the Pro Bowl cannot play in the Superbowl?

Just the opposite: Players going to the Super Bowl can't play in the Pro Bowl.

It's for the same reason the Colts pulled their starters in the Jets game: To prevent injuries. Nobody wants star players to get hurt in a meaningless game when they have a much bigger one left to play.

It's not that they're not allowed. It's that this year they moved the pro bowl from the week after to the week before the superbowl, which means that anyone playing in the superbowl won't want to risk possible injury, or have any distraction before the biggest game of their career.
