Plumbing mystery: kitchen faucet with pull-out spray leaking under counter?

I have a relatively new kitchen faucet with a pull-out spray. It suddenly started to heavily leak under the counter whenever turned on. The installer recommended over the phone that I take it apart and look for kinks. Not wanting to do that, I just pulled the spray handle all the way out and let it slowly go back in to the handle -- and now it appears to not be leaking. Could a kink in the spray hose have caused the leaking underneath? I can't find anyone else who's run into this particular problem, so I'm not confident that it's solved. Thanks!

If it only leaks when it is 'on', then the leak must be on the flexible hose. Look under there with a flashlight, can you see a leaking connection? Pull the sprayer head out, turn on the water, does it leak where the sprayer head connects to the flexible hose? You can hand tighten this connection.

You need to call the guy back, he has a responsibility here.

Sounds like he didn't get something tight enough under there, and doesn't want to come back and fix his mistake.
