How do you put songs from cd onto ipod?

I have itunes, and I imported the songs from my cd's as itunes said to do, but my sister said to sync it as well so the songs will go into my ipod shuffle. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a sync button in itunes. Any help?

    The sync button is only in iTunes when there is an iPod connected and recognized. Learn more in your user guide from Apple.com/support, iTunes Help, FAQs and Tutorials.
