Magic Jack Telephone outlet?

I'm very curious about the product called "The Magic Jack."

It's an outlet that costs about 20 to 30 bucks.

The outlet is "plugged" into your computer monitor, after-wards you plug your telephone into the magic jack and you're allowed to call anywhere free of charge........

In doing this...... you longer need your regular phone company?????

SO that's like paying a one time fee of 20 to 30 bucks to buy the product; while using the phone for free the entire year??????

Respond to this only if you have/ or tried this product.

Also are you allowed to surf the net via dial up connection (through the use of the magic jack) ; while talking on the phone via magic jack AT THE SAME TIME?

device and first year of service $40

per year after the first year $20

it plugs into the USB of your PC (not the monitor)

your PC needs to be on, and connected to high speed internet (cable/DSL) to work...

you can get rid of the regular phone company if you use cable modem, otherwise you will still need your DSL line

you can not use the MJ for dial up or fax... since you need high speed internet to use it there is no reason to use it for dial up..
