Why didn't Republicans criticize Bush for the "shoe bomber" incident?

A failed attempt to blow up a plane during the holidays with explosives hidden in clothes happened before, under Bush.

Back in 2001 Richard Colvin Reid, also known as Abdul Raheem and as Tariq Raja, and often referred to in the media as the shoe bomber, was convicted on charges of terrorism. On December 22, 2001 he was arrested for attempting to destroy a Boeing 767 on American Airlines Flight 63, a flight from Paris, Charles De Gaulle International Airport to Miami International Airport, USA, by igniting explosives hidden in his shoes.

Back then President Bush was on vacation in Crawford Texas, much like Obama was on December 25th, 2009 when another terrorist tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.

Facts: It took Bush 5 days to publicly respond to the terrorist attempt back in 2001. All the White House said at the time is that they were reviewing the situation and they took it seriously. No one officially responded to the incident for 5 DAYS! In essence, the Obama administration said the EXACT SAME THING as the Bush administration said back in 2001. Furthermore Obama took LESS TIME TO REACT THAN BUSH DID IN 2001!

Furthermore, NO DEMOCRATS criticized Bush's response time to the shoe bomber, and no Democrats tried to play political games during that time.

Question: Why can't Republicans treat Obama as good as Democrats treated Bush on December 22, 2001?

Why are Republican's criticizing Obama for doing things the same, if not better than Bush did for the EXACT SAME THING?

Summary:

Failed terrorist attempt to blow up international flight during the holidays under Bush: = 5 days to respond and no criticism from Republicans or Democrats for slow response.

Failed terrorist attempt to blow up international flight during the holidays under Obama: = 3 days to respond and total criticism from Republican for a faster response than Bush.

Why do Republicans criticize Obama for this when Bush did THE SAME THING!?

Update:

Libertarian:

You just don't get it do you. Terrorists are going to continue to send attackers. They are going to keep trying.

My point was not that it happened, but was the hypocritical response by the Republican party.

In essence, when it happens to your guy, no one criticized him, but when it happens to the other guy, you open up the guns and blow him away.

Update 2:

I’m not sure many people are paying attention, but not even the Democrats politicized the failed terror attempt of the "shoe bomber", nor did they point their finger at the Bush Administration, even if it did take Bush 5 days to make a statement after the incident.

But it’s okay to politicize an act of terror if you happen to be a Republican and a Democrat sits in the oval office. (Do as I say, not as I do)

Bombs explode. The "shoe bomber" bomber's bomb was lit on fire. There was no explosion therefore it wasn't a bomb. Not only was it some wacko that just tried to light his shoe on fire there were wackos calling his shoe a bomb. I'm surprised they didn't call the shoe thrown at Bush a grenade. The Undie-bomber's bomb did explode.

Obama is the one that claimed that he was winning the hearts and minds of the terrorists and that he believed in "smart power" over whatever Bush was doing. Bush at least acknowledged that it was going to be a long war and things would continue to happen. It ended up that whatever Bush was doing was smarter than whatever Obama has done with several terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since Obama took office.

Convenience. At that time, it was a Republican President.

The Bush administration admits that there were problems with data sharing and Obama is repeating those mistakes! I hope there will be a major change in their approach to fighting terror.

How come Obama didn't learn from this incident. The shoe bomber used the SAME MATERIAL.

Shame on the terrorist once, shame on the government twice.

Obama messed up. He appointed an amateur. He's a loser. Period.

Most Republicans are up there in age and can't afford the Alzheimer's medicine because of their private insurance shuts them out for pre-existing conditions. Its easy for them to forget.
