Windows 7 + iTunes = Blue Screen of Death?
iTunes, any and every version I've used with my iPod Classic 80GB, has worked on Windows XP & Vista. Since upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium (having changed nothing else), anytime I try to sync my 80GB Classic or brand new Nano 16GB, I get a blue screen and immediate restart. I've tried doing the recommended things from Apple's trouble-shooting and a few others (including installing older versions of iTunes, different USB slots, cables to connect and some suggestions I've found in Googling) to no avail. I'm getting frustrated. I don't know what to do and it feels like there's no fix until maybe there's a new iTunes or new 7 patch or something.
If someone can point me in the right direction to the proper fix., whether it be fixing iTunes or the quick fix of an alternative program (that allows you to move songs, video, etc. to your iPod and play them while connected to your computer), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot in advance.
Yes, I do have the 64-bit version.
I also have no clue how to make part of one's computer a different OS.
It was COMODO. :/

try this..... turn your computer off..... plug in the iPod and the Nano 16GB..... boot up the system,,,,, windows will do a systems hardware search, it will then find the usb devices,,, boot up the usb drivers then boot into windows,
Never Never just pull the usb devices without first un mounting them once you have the system booted up if you look on the bottom right side for the task bar you will see an icon for the usb devices, click on that a menu will pop up, click on the remove or unmount drive then you can remove the iPod or Nano drive windows needs to close all drives down (close all the file) before it is removed,
if that don't work you will need to get the windows 7 usb drivers for these devices

The Windows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get information about all of the components such as hardware and software which are installed on the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access the various programs, files, and processes. However, the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing useless tasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the blue screen of death. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer number of factors that can affect the registry, there’s no one size fits all approach. You can’t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it’s nearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which information is bad. That’s a job better suited for software. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com/ to you ! You can scan your pc for free! Good luck!

Do you have the right download of iTunes (32-bit or 64-bit)? That could cause driver issues which is the number one cause of blue screens.

The first thing to do to speed up pc and get rid of malwares and viruses is cleaning the registry with a program like CCLeaner http://bit.ly/UrAxRm
