Does the District of Colombia or Washington D.C. have senators in the U.S.Senate?If yes,for how long?Thanks.?

    D.C. does not have a senator. It has one representative in the House. The house member isn't entitled to vote on the house floor, but he does vote in procedural matters and in committees. D.C. has 3 electoral votes.

    No. The Democrats have tried to introduce the legislation but rebuffed by the Republicans who fear more Democratic Senators. The residents of DC believe they should be represented because they pay taxes.

    The current representative in the House is a vocal supporter of DC getting seats however.
