OK, well my first few times I was always afraid about that too! But, all you need to do is put one or two pads in your pocket because they're thin. Some people say put them in your backpack, but I think that makes it a little obvious. So, I just put them in my pocket. When you go to the bathroom and you need to change it just wait until someone flushes the toilet and open it fast and put it on. Or, flush the toilet and then open it and no one will ever know. Another idea is that if you're worried you will leak just put two pads in before you go to school. Put one in the top and one in the bottom but make sure they;re together. I have done that before when I was worried and it worked well because there was no way it could leak. But, another idea is talk to a friend that you really trust and you know you can talk to about that. Tell her that you are on your period and just ask if she could make sure when she see's you that there is nothing on your pants. I used to do that in middle school. We made up a code to ask each other. We would just tell each other to check real quick and walk in front of them. If there is something just go to the bathroom and change your pad. Good luck!! Hope I helped. :]

Don't panic. Having your period is a natural process that all women have to face at some point in their lives. Our monthly visitor can be a pain, and sometimes we do fear that something will be "exposed" while at school, work, etc. But the best thing to do is to remain calm and be cautious. When changing your pad, be careful not to get anything on your clothes. And when you go to clean yourself, make sure that you've cleaned everything so that nothing falls onto your clothing. You can also try baby wipes to wipe yourself if you want to remain..."fresh." You say that your period isn't heavy, so don't check up too much if it's not necessary. Ask you friends to look out for you and "spot check." It's an easy way to see if anything might have slipped through without having to constantly go to the bathroom. If you're still worried, try using a thicker pad. And if anything should leak through, keep an extra pair of trousers in your locker or a place no one will notice. Good luck & don't worry so much. You'll be fine.

When I was younger I was terrified too. Especially when it was one of my first ones. So here is what I used to do, if you dont want to use tampons, I used to take 2 pads, and put one at the very top of my panties, and one right under it. That way it lined and covered all my panties-except for like sides and stuff. Now i use tampons, and also a pad just in case, so I don't end up "leaking" anywhere. One time when i was a middle schooler, I leaked through my uniform skirt and everything, and when I got up there was blood all over the seat and people saw it. I was humiliated, but I figured out what to do, and got over it. you'll be fine! good luck hun.
and concerning changing your pad at school, quietly open the pad wrapper or cough while you do it and that should cover anything up. Or flush the toilet and while it flushes open your pad that way no one hears anything.

Just stick however many pads you think you will need. I usually bring the amount that I would go to the bathroom to change them for which is about 3-4 depending on the flow. But just keep them in your backpack and bring your backpack with you between classes and you can change it then. And you most likely aren't the only girl one your period when you go back to school. And if your really worried about getting your clothes stained you can wear darker pants to school.

why would you be scared and embarrassed? every girl gets it. if you're that embarrassed do it when you're in the bathroom alone so you have more privacy
