Turmeric as a health supplement?

I've read that the spice turmeric has many possible health benefits, but I don't know what amount is good or how to use it (other than in recipes, of course). Does anyone have experience with using this spice for health purposes? Thanks!

The best way to use it is in cooking. You can put it into soups, rice, couscous, fried vegetables, majadra, just about anything. You should use it along with a bit of white pepper -- the piperine in pepper ups the effectiveness of the turmeric by 2000% according to studies. White pepper has more piperine than black pepper, but if you don't have white pepper so use black pepper.

As far as amounts go, about an eighth of a teaspoon is probably about the average amount I'd put into any one cooked dish. It may be an acquired taste, though. We eat a lot of it here where I live so I can't tell you whether or not that amount would seem like a lot at first.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out this video here: http://www.sexyjese.com/ - it will blow your mind.

Like other spices, Turmeric is use as antiseptic and antibacterial agent. Its medicinal value stretches from the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, cancer, liver disorders and arthritis to the treatment of stomach problems. It is an anti-inflammatory agent and is useful for treating digestive disorders. In cosmetics, it is use in body creams either for medication purpose, such as the treatment of Acne Inversa, or for beauty purposes.
