Dear Sir,
In modern day the name Blue chip is derived from Poker ( gambling ). In the poker or as such in any gambling it is very common to use coloured chips in lieu
to actual currency notes. Each colour indicates different denominations, which will be exchanged during / after the game.
Out of all colours the blue chip is of highest value. That is how the name Blue chip derived to all financially excellent performing Companies.
This is the actual History behind name Blue chip in Modern day financial market.

It is derived from the ancient Chinese warrior school of Tsinganuka, in which the most promising young boys were fed a special diet to increase their martial prowess. One of the unfortunate by-products of this diet was that it turned their...excrement a rather alarming shade of blue. However, their reputation in battle was so fearsome that this rather unique feature became legendary. Even today, the most promising prospects in any field are referred to as "blue-chip" because of them.
