Why did everyone get so ticked when Twilight "took over the world" but nobody minded when Harry Potter did?
I'm not against either of them in the least but for some reason I'm still one of those people who's annoyed with Twilight being such an obsession

maybe because they were pretty young in harry potter when the first one came out and not considered sex symbols like the people in twilight are. it's annoying even on here when someone has the name "i love edward cullen" or "team jacob" or "mrs. edward cullen" or "bella swan<3's edward". like wtf...get a life, they can't think of some other name? it's like people are such sheep. i haven't even seen twilight, but i hear so much about it, it's like i did any way.

Harry Potter is not just about..which of the main male characters would you rather get with.
It's got a whole other storyline going on around the characters and has created its on universe and everything.
I think people get annoyed at how girls call themselves 'Twi-Hards' cause it sounds kind of lame.
Also Harry Potter grew in popularity gradually as the books were released. Twilight mainly gained popularity after all the books were released and the movie came out. Therefore Twilight couldn't attract the immense popularity that HP did until it was attatched to a movie.
The writing quality of Twilight is nothing compared to that of Harry Potter, which has delicate themes woven into a complex storyline that had many things that kept you guessing. With twilight, people are mainly attracted to the storyline and the concept of the two hot guys and how Edward is so perfect, and try to look over the fact that the writing style is not that great.
I admit that I enjoyed reading the concept of Twilight and Edward being all dreamy, but half the time the writing made me cringe it was so cheesy.
Twilight is probably more of a phase. Harry Potter will always be a classic, that appeals to all ages and not just predominantly young females.

Because Harry Potter doesn't depict simplistic words that seem like they have been written by a 12 year old girl. Harry Potter has a very detailed and imaginative storyline, the characters are intimate and detailed. Everything I have stated is the complete opposite of the unoriginal Twilight.

Because when harry potter came out nobody was like, "OMG IM ON TEAM RON!" "OMG IM ON TEAM HARRYYYYY!"
And there wasn't a buunch of stupid questions on Yahoo like, "How can I become a wizard?" "Are wizards real? Pls tell the truth!111!!"
