Depends on the game title, the condition of the disk, box and instruction book, etc and the popularity of that game, bud.. and that value changes daily.. "New Releases" usually fetch about $25 worth of in-store credit (you'll get less if you sell it to them for cash), while older titles pretty much nose-dive into the $5 to $10 range.. If you want more, you'd do better selling it to someone else, or you can take advantage of "Bonus Offers", like trading in multiple games toward a new release, etc..
Here's a link to GameStop's, current offers..

Whatever the corporate headquaters decides.
Most newly released games they give $20-25.
Stuff like Madden 2001 they will give $0.10.
Do not complain about how little they give - they are about average in terms of what a store will give for a game. To get the most money for a used game, sell it yourself. You won't have to pay for overhead (rent, utilities, employees), so you can get as much as the market will bear.
