I had my appendix removed yesterday.?
They did it through tubes. I was wondering what I could do to speed up the healing process. And also, I'm addicted to cigarettes. Is smoking a horrible idea. I'm trying to just cut back on how many I smoke right mow.

yes, cut back. Smoking delays the healing process. Follow all your doctor's instructions. Take zinc (normal amount) and loads of vitamin D. Eat a light, nutritious diet, per md instructions. Move around and get that belly working. Take a mild stool softener, like colace, if your doctor oks it Get air to your incisions.

I had my appendix removed way back in 1962 - abdominal incision. Even that didn't take so long to heal - I was back at work the following week (9 days after the op).
If the ciggies are making you cough, then they are not a good idea - it puts a strain on sore areas.
