Has anyone completed a certificate of arts and was it useful?

I am currently studying a degree majoring in religions. I am now looking at just completing it as a certificate and wanted to know if others have done likewise and found it useful as a result.

    I have a number of certificates, including one in teaching English as a Foreign Language, one for Community College teaching, and one in Crisis Management. I have not yet utilized the first two, but have the last to thank for my current position (that and a graduate degree).

    My recommendations, if you are going after a certificate, do it with the intention of pursuing a career based on that certificate.
