Is Everclear really all that "pure"?

Having done Everclear shots, I can assest it's not as purified as high-end vodka.

Just happens to be at least 2x as strong. Nice to see someone liking Tito's btw.

Everclear Pure Grain Alcohol

Everclear is nothing more than stronger vodka. The way both are made is pure alcohol is distilled, then water is added until the desired proof is achieved (or for true everclear, the 190 proof stuff, it's just bottled without dilution). Everclear's manufacturers don't put a whole lot of effort into purifying the stuff; if you're drinking EC then you don't care about taste. High-end vodka distillers do put in that effort, and that's why it's smoother.

If you want you can run Everclear though a charcoal filter meant for water, that will remove quite a bit of the impurities.

The problem with any distilled liquor is if there is any residual METHANOL left when done. Methanol if it comes alone in a can or jar has a "skull and crossbones" on the label... it is a poison. Triple distilled means that there are two more steps that help remove the methanol. I wonder as well, but did not see the answer here, if the Methanol is all removed from Everclear?

Yes - EverClear is just alcohol - and it's clean stuff. I knew a heart patient who was directed to have a drink or two everyday, and the doctor had suggested he use EverClear as it had the least dye and other sugars in it. Plus when you're buying Vodka, half the bottle is just water. It's the most expensive water you'll ever buy.

But when you're using EverClear, be advised that it is twice as strong as Vodka.

When distilled alcohol comes out of the system it is 200 proof pure alcohol. Everclear and Georgia Moon are cut with water down to 190 Proof to simulate the taste of Moonshine.

Tito's is Vodka made from grain and is filtered over charcoal six times and so is very smooth and has almost no impurities in it

The nausea you feel is from too much alcohol entering your bloodstream at one time. Try to be a little more careful how much of that stuff you drink.

Those who are prone to drink too much can sometimes overdose on pure grain and die from blood alcohol poisoning.

I used to make four drinks at a time in a shaker glass because to get where I wanted to go took too much time buying one drink at a time.

I got sober 40 years after I took my first drink and by then I was ordering three doubles at a time from the bartender just to get primed for Happy Hour.

There are cheaper vodkas once you go triple distilled there isn't much difference the ice in your drink has more impurities then add cran

A lot of everclears aren't as purified as the normal vodkas.

And vodka/colorless alcohols are NOT better for you! What gives whiskey it's dark color and strong taste is what makes it good for you. this is a common misconception!

Whiskey absorbs antioxidants and tannins out of the oak barrels that they ferment in. Google this.

everclears pretty hard liquor yes the only liquor i no that can match it is either moonshine or jack daniels
