Why can't I open PDF files?

I get PDFs from my boss via e-mail. I used to be able to open them, now I can't. I can still open PDFs from online sites. I've downloaded the latest version of Adobe that I can find. Anyone have any ideas?

Update:

Cannot save either. My antivirus scans it says it's ok. Then I click on open or save. A screen opens says getting file info. I've let it run for hours and never seems to do anything. Think I have Adobe 8.0 or 8.1

You may try foxit reader, this one is lighter and better. Here you may find it:

You might need to upgrade to Reader 9, which is the latest version.

You can also try non-Adobe PDF viewers. Microsoft Word and OpenOffice.org may be able to open PDF files.

You can also try using a different browser. If you're currently using the latest IE, try using Firefox. If you are using an older browser, upgrade to the latest one.

There is also a chance that the PDFs are poorly formatted or corrupt, which would be on your boss' end.

    Hi,

You need to have Adobe Reader to be able to open pdf files.

If you want to download Adobe Reader you can download it here for free http://j.mp/1sxSAnV

Are you able to save the .PDF files from your email to a folder on your hard drive and then open them from there?

Ask your boss if he is encrypting the files or if he is password protecting them.
