Pokemon WFC; WHY does everyone have a Garchomp?

It's some complicated thing, which can be looked into further on Bulbapedia. Basically, it's the number of base stats it has. Over 600 or something is for legendaries, and coming close up at around 500 or something are the really powerful third evolution of mostly dragon-type chains.

(Contrast with something like Magikarp or Feebas with about 100 or so)

Garchomp and Salamence are in the catergory that some legendaries fall into - Garchomp's base attack stat rivals Giratina's. Therefore, they are really powerfull if trained properly. Therefore, people use them.

Also, Cynthia has one. And it's a major pain defeating Cynthia's garchomp. Without my level 100 arceus I got from a special event, I would never defeat it. Especially not with empoleon's crap speed and the unreliability of blizzard - which has about THE worst accuracy in the world. It's pretty powerful.

Also, Garchomp's moves aren't that bad either. Especially the large amount of TM's and pretty awesome move tutors.

Some people make a level 1 pokemon defeat a level 100 one but now with the other moves, it's not really reliable.

Anyway, my favourite dragon type would still have to be dragonite. Garchomp's 4x weakness to ice really annoys me. I mean yes, dragonite is also 4x weak to ice, but it has thunderbolt to combat those water types that may have ice moves.

Garchomp is gay. Seriously, If I could pick any pokemon to use on WFC is would be Feraligator.

Mabie the qualitys of the pokémon, they like that pokémon alot or just another fad
