No brushes. Only a wide tooth comb on dry hair. if you have to blow dry your hair use a detangler and comb out first then blow dry and use the wide tooth comb or your fingers (gently). If you need volume turn your head upside down and blow dry that way. Brushes are terrible for hair. They stretch and break the strands. If you're going to use a brush anyway use a boar hair brush and start washing with olive oil shampoo and conditioner. Beside salon brands, Palmer's works really good. It'll strengthen your hair, make it shiny, remove build up and you'll pull a lot less hair out when brushing and combing. (And it won't make your hair greasy; I get asked that a lot.)

Paul Mitchell Ion round brush. Its ceramic so it heats up sort of the way an iron would to help smooth and straighten better but far less damaging then using an iron also the Ion complex helps break up water molecules and infuses them into the hair shaft for more conditioned locks!
