I find myself on occasion singing the theme song to The Mickey Mouse Club show but the song from childhood that my mom used to sing to me, Bill Grogan's Goat, has never left me. It used to make me cry and I can remember every word.

Bill Grogan's goat was feeling fine,

ate three red shirts from off the line.

Bill took a stick, gave him a whack,

and tied him to the railroad track.

The whistle blew, the train grew nigh,

Bill Grogan's goat, would surely die.

Gave three long groans, of awful pain,

coughed up the shirts and flagged the train!

Not a children's song, but I always find myself humming "Für Elise."

Not a children's song, per se, but my "lullaby song" sang by my Mum was "Goodnight Sweetheart"
