No that Obama has opened up the eastern short to oil drillers is time to stop calling him the Green President?

Today President Obama announced that "for the economy" he is going to allow drilling off the coast of Virginia. Now, haven't we pretty much gone full circle here? In my desire to be environmentally minded I have learned some facts that shock me. One, that the ban of offshore drilling off the California coast was enacted by Exec Order of President Bush I and extended by Bush II. That John McCain's record on the environment was pretty good (especially on alternative fuels/electric cars) and is now better than the Green President. Note I said record which means what he has actually done as opposed to talk about it. Obama took $250 billion of the stimulus package to invest in 25 new Nuclear power plants, saying they are green and clean. Now he is allowing drilling off the best shorelines on the east coast and doing it for the economy. Haven't we just gotten exactly what we thought we were voting against? If the environment is 2nd seat to the jobs, energy, etc, then are we not where we thought we were with Bush II? Isn't this exactly what we said Republicans do? I belong to all of the "right" groups too (Sierra, Waterkeeper Alliance, etc) and I think this is pretty much the opposite of what many like me thought was going to happen. Did we let partisan politics hook us like a hungry bass? The new Green Jobs from the campaign look a lot like the old jobs don't they?

The only "green" you can associate with Obama is his gluttony for money. Look into the Alternative Energy Act of 2005 where George Bush put every "Green Project" and tax break into place that Obama is claiming as his great ideas. I've used these tax breaks for 5 years now. Energy hog Obama keeps the White House over 80 degrees in the winter and below 70 in the summer, drives around in a 10 ton armored tank and flies worldwide in an enormous jet at a cost of about $75,000 an hour to operate. (So does Nancy Pelosi) His wife's supposed "organic garden" bought vegetables as props to show the enormous size of the produce grown even after professional gardeners tended the crop. If you recall Absolutely opposing any new offshore drilling was his biggest campaign point and it "wouldn't produce any oil until 2030" in his words. He is a lieing hypocrite and the biggest Con Man in history.

The politicians don't give a darn about anything except power. Both sides of the isle stick their finger in the wind to see which way the political wind is pointing. It gets worse day by day. Our vote counts less and less. Speaking of green, There has been something interesting in the news as of late. It seems that hydrogen hho gas can be produced via electrolysis from water. And the hho gas can be burned along with the gasoline, improving Fuel economy. Wouldn't the oil companies hate that? There are some interesting videos etc. at http://bit.ly/a0iMth

Oh, he's green alright. What this does is expose him for another lie.

he is so sly, or thinks he is. he says one thing when he thinks it is popular, but then a few months down the road he quietly changes it. He is not different from Bush so far! Isn't it hilarious!

Fantastic points, Obama Has done the opposite of what he said he would do... most likely though it wil be George Bush's fault, somehow.

It's about time somebody did. It will be interesting to see how they spin this one, though.
