Is it just me or is this counter productive?

All of this bickering back and forth between the Right and Left. Wouldn't the logical choice be to swallow our pride and be willing to make compromises on all issues and find a common solution that works best for everyone. It just seems like a dog chasing it's tail around in circles. The power can never be given back to the people unless we all find a way to unite. Common sense says we all will have to make some sacrifices in order to do so. Or maybe I don't know my head from a hole in the ground.

Update:

I made no mention of changing views. I said make compromise. And I am willing to do what ever it takes. I don't vote for one side.

Update 2:

I wasnt expecting for everyone to get along or change to one view. I just don't see how bickering back and forth produces positive results.

Update 3:

Zero1 I like your answer. And yes I can say both.

Update 4:

I LIED I do agree with some of what you say but not all people in need of help are lazy. That being said the Patriot Act took away rights as well. Good answer. That's why I put this out here to get this feedback.

That would be like expecting people who say they're smart to quit voting to bankrupt themselves by voting either Republican or Democrat.

Each U.S. taxpayer now owes over $143,000 in debt due to the combined fiscal insanity perpetuated by both Democrats and Republicans.

    Can you say bankruptcy?

A vote for either a Republican or a Democrat is a vote to flush your future down the toilet!

Not to mention your children and grand children.

    Can you say economic slavery?

Time for Americans to remember simple math when they go vote.

That all sounds good, but here is the rub. The left has designs on my Constitutional rights, i.e forced payment for a gov-care system worse than what I have and the right to bear arms. They also expect me to pay for people that are lazy and unscrupulous. To find common ground would mean I would have to give them something that is my right as an American citizen...that will never work with me.The only common ground has already been compromised.

Our society is composed of groups with conflicting interests. In a nation of 300 million people, you're not going to get a consensus on anything, so basically no, we can't all just get along.

you swallow your pride and change your views first.
