Morning sickness woes, and a lovely scan update.?

I normally get morning sickness, but never this bad. All day long. It wakes me up through the night. I have trouble keeping anything down. I have tried a few things (eating foods high in protein, crackers through the night, lots of small meals through the day, extra vitamin b6), but nothing seems to be helping me. Every time it gets bad I remind myself that it means baby is doing good, and that hopefully it'll get better in the next few weeks, but I would love to find some way to decrease it just a bit, any tips?

And of course for my contacts, had my scan today at 8 weeks 0 days, heartbeat 160, baby looking good, and on the video you could see little arms and legs! This is the healthiest pregnancy I've ever had, and I'm feeling very optimistic.

Here's a picture of the bean taken an hour ago http://preg.fertilityfriend.com/ug/entry/7606132.h... its grainy and not to clear, but lovely all the same.

Ah. Welcome to pregnancy. Honestly I don't think there are any real ways to help the sickness besides nausea pills..The small meals will help sometimes and make it worse others. And if you notice sometimes its worse then others try to remember what you ate it might be causing it. Like with me I got a temporary intolerance to yogurt and milk and it was making me sick and I didn't realize I was making my sickness worse until I noticed a pattern after eating certain things. . I had it for 6 weeks or more it was bad.. lol. You're baby is beautiful! Im so excited for you. This is great I cant wait to answer all you pregnancy questions. It's funny. Even if you think you know you still ask. I feel like im pregnant all over again. lol im like living it through you.. I just cant wait.

I really have heard that morning sickness is a sign of a good pregnancy im assuming that is because that means your hormones are doing what they are supposed to do.

Any ways. Just wanted to try to help because Im excited for you!

    Good luck!!

    Hi Alexandra,

I just logged in to see if you have any updates. Wow!! So exciting to see ur tiny bean :)

I'm sorry I can't help you with the morning sickness, I haven't had any at all. But all I can say is it's not for too long now. It'll be getting better in the next few weeks. I had severe heartburn during my first trimester and I won't feel like eating anything. I wouldn't eat my dinner cos heartburn gets bad when I go to bed and I can't get to sleep. I wondered if it'll get better at all. Now here I am 22+ weeks no heartburn and eating well :)

I'm sure the morning sickness is an extra assurance about how strong the pregnancy gets and in no time u'll be relieved of it and enjoy your luvly second trimester soon. :)

Good luck dear! Keep posted every week. I remember u have a scan every thursday now!

Great news about your scan - congrats!

I had terrible sickness with my daughter. The only thing that worked for me was the travel sickness bands that you can buy from the chemist and you wear on your wrists. They work straight away, and no side effects. I still felt sick when I had them on, but I could function. Without them I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry!

As you say, it's a good sign and I reckon you are having a girl :-)

YaYYYY...i'm so glad things went well at the appt...what a beautiful pic...i have my appt on monday and i'm soo anxious..we're hoping to hear the heart beat....like you i've been feeling really nauseous at times...it comes and goes but when it comes, it's really bad. I feel like i've been losing weight because i haven't been eating well...nothing looks or smells good...i've only been eating fruits, crackers..drinking lots of water and juice...a couple of my pregnant friends say that eating ginger candy or an apple helps...they sell them at whole food stores...there's not one by me so i've been drinking ginger ale. I also read that lemon helps with nausea..so i've been thinking that i should go buy some and leave them at my desk and sniff them when i feel nauseous lol...well keep us posted on your progress....i hope to do the same once this appt is over...can't wait!

Congratulations - I am so happy for you!

As to the morning sickness, for whatever reason Cherry Lifesavers helped me a lot when I was pregnant with my twins. Only the cherry flavor . . . seemed to take away the nausea and allow me to eat and keep stuff down.

    Best wishes!
