i think facebook friend counts are overrated. Someone who adds everyone they know, does not mean they have a lot of friends, just means they add whoever they "think they know, or have mutual friends with". I believe everyone should value how many true friends they have, rather than the number of "nobodies" they add randomly.

Ordinary people can only have a max of 5,00 friends. Facebook’s engineers tell me that the 5,000 friend limit is there because their engines have scaling problems. Other people (famous/CEO/etc.) can have well over this amount.
