Is there any car made 100% in the USA?

Many "American" cars are made in places like Mexico, because it's cheaper, and because of Union issues. So is there any car, regardless of manufacturer, where all of the components are made in the USA, and the car is assembled here as well?

Although my research is still inconclusive, there is no vehicle of any major manufacturer that is 100% made in any one country. The only possibilities there would be Russian or Chinese state owned auto makers. But, with auto parts being such a global market, I doubt any vehicle anywhere has a 100% domestic origin.

I'm going to continue to look in to this, as it's got my curiosity. I can tell you that the last vehicle of 100% North American origin, had to be no later than the early 1970's. Since then, between establishing friendly relations with China, and the addition of sophisticated electronics and emission controls, It's doubtful that a vehicle could have been 100% American beyond this point.

Actually, if you count the radio, it may be even before this. The last vehicle radios made here were Philco's for Ford, prior to 1974. It's highly doubtful that the electronic components were made here though, as by the mid 70's, solid state components were pretty much made in Asian countries.

Just a footnote, In most places, a car only has to be 50-75% of domestic origin to be considered domestic.

Yes, things are cheaper when imported from poorer countries and those that have continued to invest in their manufacturing base, but at what cost?

Look in my lifestyles time, I have owned each. Got to mention the imports look to hold in there plenty longer than the American made ones. The imports can run over one hundred,000 miles with much less issues. Like say a Ford Taurus have you ever looked at the recollects in this vehicle online? I had a 1993 Ford Taurus and it had over 241 recollects on simply that vehicle, you ran any yr of the ones style of vehicles and nonetheless recollects. Ford knew their was once issues however they stored making the a few issues time and again. Sure imports have recollects however no longer 241 valued at, I feel while an import manufacturer unearths a difficulty with their vehicles, they repair that difficulty and does no longer hold making the identical difficulty once more. Look to shopping a Honda, the resell on those vehicles are quality, so if you are going to buy one with 2 or years down the street you'll alternate it off and do good. But check out that with an American made vehicle. I wager whilst you purchase that vehicle, you higher investigate the web and investigate recollects on it. Then pass from there. Hope this is helping a few.

No. Unless you go to somewhere like China or Russia where the government forces companies to do things their way you wont find any car built 100% in any country.
