Has anyone out there successfully downloaded a free version of Adobe Photoshop?

if so does it work?

Update:

*edit*

I already have a legal photoshop on my p.c.

I asked the question after a conversation with a friend, whilst looking at 'photoshopped' pictures in a photographers shop.

The only legal "free" version of Photoshop is the trial version. And many people have successfully downloaded it.

If you want something that's completely free, try GIMP. That's been successfully downloaded as well.

A free version of GIMP is available here: [link]

GIMP is a free software you can use for loads of tasks (photo-retouching, image authoring, image compositioning, photo editing.). It's the best free photo editing tool available for free. It's not as powerful as photoshop but can be easily augmented with expensions and plugins if you need professional and advanced features. You can use GIMP as a simple paint program or a complex image manipulation software (thanks to an advanced scripting interface). Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

You can download a free trial that works fine. Anything else is illegal. Assuming it isn't downloaded from anywhere bad it should work, but the best option is to buy it
