You will need a motorcycle endorsement on you license. There are 2 ways to do this. Go to your local state license office and pass both the written test and then take the motorcycle driving test. You will need a good working motorcycle and protective gear. This is the difficult way.
The easy way is to find a local Motorcycle Safety Foundation course. The cost of the course is usually underwritten by the state so it's not very expensive. The course provides a motorcycle and helmet both classroom and riding training. The course runs 2 1/2 days and when successfully completed you get a certificate. Take the certificate to the licensing office and get your endorsement.
You will meet some great people also taking the course and may even make a new friend.
You will be a better and safer rider after taking the course.
Have fun.
