Blogspot is great, but it doesn't allow search engines to index it.... so nobody will actually read what you have to say.
If you want folks to read your blog, you can use either wordpress.com or tumblr.com. Or, if you have some cash, you can buy a domain and set up your own blog but you'll need a bit of technical experience to go that route.
