Can you help me with this System of Equations math problem?

Solve the system of equations below by graphing them with a pencil and paper. Enter your answer as an ordered pair.

y = -x - 4

y = x + 2

    y = y, so:

    -x - 4 = x + 2

    -6 = 2x

    -3 = x

    y = 3 - 4

    y = -1

    (-3, -1)

    Answer for y = -x - 4. So the line y = x – 4 crosses the x-axis at x = 4. Since the line y = x – 4 is a straight line, it will be above the x-axis on one side of the intercept and below the x-axis on the other side of the intercept.

    2y = - 2

    y = - 1

    - 1 = x + 2

    x = - 3

    x = - 3 , y = - 1
