How much did you gain in the first trimester (with an update of course)?

I went for my 12 week screening today. Before I was pregnant I was 122 lbs, today at 12 weeks 2 days, I'm...123lbs, with a full bladder and stomach. I'm 5'6", so a healthy weight for my height, but was a little put off by the fact that I haven't gained anything yet!

I know you're not suppose to gain much during the first trimester, but I expected at least something. I've been very careful, trying to eat a very healthy balanced diet (plus I have hubby saying "healthy choices for baby"), but am I not eating enough? My belly has grown though, and my old pants no longer button, so is my body just redistributing??

And for my contacts, I had my 12 week scan today, everything was perfect, all measurements right on point, and I'm told I can finally relax!

I am so glad mommy and baby are doing so well!! I just get a big smile every time I read your updates! You will have the option of finding out the gender in like 8 weeks or maybe less that's just amazing!

I wouldn't worry about the weight by the time I was 20 weeks I had gained 10lbs and that was it. Over the next 20 weeks I gained 30lbs! Lol. Most of the actual weight comes in the 2nd and 3rd trimester. In my 3rd I started to gain about 2lbs a week! Eh! But of course that's when the baby is getting a lot bigger. You sound about normal now and you told me before that you were able to feel your uterus now so your belly is probably starting to grow a little but most of it is probably bloating which is a HUGE part of pregnancy!

And you do need to eat healthy or at least you should but you need to take in a lot of calories for that babe. You seem like you are having a perfectly good and normal pregnancy. Im am so happy! And I love to try to help out with questions even if I'm no help =,

Had you been weighed at earlier times to see if you gained and then maybe lost due to morning sickness? I gained 4 pounds by 7 weeks (I was STARVING!), then hit the nausea stage and lost some of that. I did have a 5 pound increase from pre-pregnancy to 12 weeks. At my last checkup at 22 weeks, I had gained 13 pounds. Some people actually lose weight in the first trimester, so if your ultrasounds show the baby is growing on target, then that is the main thing and sounds like all is going well. I am so happy for you!

By the time I was around 15 weeks I had lost around 20 lbs, I had really bad morning sickness. I am in my 3rd now, 28 weeks, and I have gained only about 3 lbs. Which the way they do it, I have only gained 3 total, they don't count what I lost to start with.

I go back next week, and I could honestly swear I have gained about 10 lbs, which I know I haven't but the way my body feels it does. I just feel so heavy. I hope that makes sense.

I wouldn't worry about it, really. Many, many, women lose weight during their pregnancies and go on to have healthy babies. I've lost 20-22 lbs. with both my pregnancies. I'm almost 22 weeks along with this one and actually just had a scan done today where everything came back perfectly.

As long as you're eating healthy foods and keeping yourself hydrated I wouldn't worry too much, especially if you just had a scan done and things checked out fine. I didn't get back up to my pre-pregnancy weight with my son until 28 weeks and then still went on to gain about 10 lbs.

hi! Weight varies with anybody. In my first being pregnant I misplaced approximately 10 lbs the 1st trimester because of the fact I had such undesirable morning disease. whether now i'm approximately 10 weeks alongside into my 2nd being pregnant and that i've got not gained or misplaced something so far. i does not complication too plenty approximately your weight because of the fact that's diverse for each being pregnant. while you're already obese then purely attempt to consume greater healthy much less fatty and sugary issues and you'd be purely nice!

Both my pregnancies I lost weight in the first trimester ... and I didn't start gaining the weight until around 18-20 weeks. Both pregnancies I gained the expected amount of weight (so I did make up for it) and my babies were healthy and a healthy weight (1st son, 7lbs 15oz) (2nd son, 8lbs 11oz).

Congrats! I am so happy to hear this pregnancy has been going so well!!

I actually lost weight during the first trimester, due to morning sickness.

My doctor said that she recommends that you gain 10 pounds by 20 weeks, and then one pound a week after that. Ideally, you'll only gain 25-35 pounds during pregnancy.

I think you're fine, hon. Believe me, in a few weeks, you'll start gaining that weight. Your doctor would've told you if anything was wrong. :-)

I didn't gain any weight until i was 15weeks, this is my second pregnancy. It's perfectly normal not to gain much if any weight before 20weeks. I'm now 24 weeks and have gained 11 pounds. With my first pregnancy i had only gained 4.5pounds by 24weeks. By the end of my pregnancy i had gained 25pounds.

i lost a little weight during my first trimester due to bad nausea, but quickly put it on again in my second trimester. I actually over ate because i felt guilty that i'd lost the weight.

If you've switched to all healthy foods your body would have naturally lost the weight anyway, all those good nutrients going to the baby :) so you've lost weight in the places you don't need it, with all the good fats going to the baby.

Congrats on your great scan :)

I have never had morning sickness and right now i am 20 weeks pregnant with twins and have lost weight. As long as the baby is doing ok there is nothing to worry about.
