What crib did you choose for your baby?
My wife and I are having our first child. We need a crib and are wondering how you made your decision on what crib you bought for your bundle of joy. We don't want to break the bank and would be ok getting something used, but also want something that is not a piece of garbage. Can you help us? Thank you!

We got a Graco Simplicity Aspen... which has been recalled like 3-4 times now! UGH! I hate the stupid thing, it was such a waste of money to get a crib that converted to a toddler bed and then to an adult bed if you can't even use it because it's broken...
My recommendations...
-get a crib with fixed sides. No drop-sides. They're the most common reason these things have been recalled.
-Don't bother with getting one that goes to a toddler bed or adult bed. For one thing, a toddler bed you can get for $50-70 easily when it's time. The most expensive part to a twin bed is the under-support system, and you'll still have to buy that. And if you have another baby and the crib is still usable then you save money being able to use the crib again. Also, if something is recalled (like the crib) then you aren't out the toddler bed as well.
-Buy it either cheap, or buy it from a good store with a good return policy. Toys R Us has a really good return policy, and even if you have to spend $20 more to buy it there it's worth it because of that. We got ours from Target and I will NEVER buy anything expensive from Target again because of their return policy, even if it's recalled they give you a hard time!
-Keep the receipt! Tape it under the crib so you don't lose it. Keep the instructions. If you can keep the box, keep the box even. It makes returning them easier if something goes wrong.
This first link, for instance, I would have loved. It does convert to a toddler bed, but at $129 it's a good price, fixed sides, nothing fancy, and if it was recalled it wouldn't be hard to eat the cost of it. Also it has 5 levels that you can adjust the crib mattress to, which is very handy. This second one is the one we picked this time around though, which is a 4-in-1 but mostly we got it because we got a great price on it (I think we paid less than $140) and we liked the look of it.

I bought the baby relax crib from Walmart and it's really nice! It wasnt nearly as expenisve as other cribs that looked the same and it converts to a toddler and full bed. Be cautious buyiung used as SO many cribs have been recalled. DO NOT buy a drop side crib.

i wanted something truly good. all the drop-section cribs regarded quite flimsy to me, so we went with a convertible crib. they have an inclination to be plenty greater good. I in no way neglected having the drop section. The crib has lasted now with the aid of my daughter till purely in the previous she became 2 (as quickly as we moved her right into an excellent mattress) and we've used it for my son as a crib till he became 18 months previous as quickly as we switched over it to a daybed/infant mattress (he's 21 months now). Please word they are the two very lively toddlers and that i became in no way fearful with regard to the crib falling aside or something in spite of having an very nearly 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous leaping up and down in it. i became somewhat disillusioned as quickly as we switched over it to a baby mattress because of the fact it became plenty larger off the floor than i assumed it may be and that i had to purchase steps so my son could desire to get into it. usual nonetheless i think of it truly is been an excellent crib. i will't remember the staggering kind, besides the incontrovertible fact that it became approximately $4 hundred at toddlers R Us.
