Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T upgrade coming?
Now that the Sonata 2.0T has been announced with an expected 274 horsepower, what will Hyundai do with the Genesis Coupe's meager 210 HP output 2.0T? Will they upgrade to Sonata levels? What happens to the 306HP V6, will they drop it and put the 4.6L V8 as an option in the Genesis coupe and pump it to 400+HP?

Good question. I read somewhere that they couldn't fit the V8 in the G-coupe. If they could they would've done it.
Just guessing/wishing but Hyundai could tune the V6 to 330+ HP, drop the 212 HP 2.0T into the new upcoming Elantra. The 1.6L planned for the Elantra is a nice base engine but being Hyundai's most popular car, it would be nice to have more options. They did it for the Kia Forte. I can't see them making the family car appear faster than the sports car however. The Genesis sedan has the same V6 engine but is less than 300 HP.
Really just guessing here.

To go from a Tiburon to the Genesis Coupe is like going from a Accent to a Azera. To say " I feel like its all been done before...." is some what true since Hyundai is always emulating other brands, but this is something totally new for Hyundai. Before the Tiburon would be compared to a G6, V6 Mustang, Eclipse, TC etc. Now we are competing with the Infinity G35, Mustang GT, possibly a BMW 335i. that is quite a jump. Earlier concepts were almost identical. Other than paint and wheels, it looks the same. The production Genesis Coupe and sedan are so like the concepts that it is amazing that a car company would stick so close to it.
