Is an Oedipal Complex, leading to ambivalence, essentially covering up what is, (or was), going on at home?

As described by Freud. Therefore, an Oedipal Complex describes the two ends of the spectrum of activities at home during childhood, discipline and the beginning of sex.

Given a possibility (on my opinion) it can! But I think the Oedipal Complex doesn't start from sexual urge, but rather starts from being with another gender intimately. This explains why most of the time, the father is closer to the daughter, and the mother is closer to the son. :)
