All these Answerers are totally lying. You asked how to to get a good level of knowledge and it will be a lot longer than 30-minutes to get a thorough working knowledge of HTML.

Sign up for classes at http://www.lvsonline.com/ The courses should be, in this order, Build Your Own Web Site, I followed with II then III. These are six week courses but you will not be busy full time for the six weeks. When you finish, you will have a sound understanding of [X]HTML and CSS. You will also make use of some script but will not have to write it.

It is much easier to take classes such as these than to study tutorials. When you get into trouble you will have someone to ask what is wrong. You won't regret it. The only program you will need in addition to a browser is Notepad or some other text editor.

Learned correctly, this is not a 15 - 30 minute undertaking. Your other responses are pulling your leg.

HTML? About 15 minutes. That was a long time ago though. :-) You should have the basics now in a couple of weeks.
