What is a good way of meeting new people in Montevideo?
I am thinking of relocating but the thought of having no friends and knowing nobody at all is scary. Is it easy to find new friends? What are the best places in Montevideo to meet new people? Work friends are not likely because I´m a self employed cosmetologist! :-)

One good way to meet people is to become active in a church group or take a class in something that interests you --- maybe cooking or dance. This works even when your working conditions make it unlikely you'll get to know anyone well.
You could also put an ad on a dating site and see if you get some good responses. Some good sites for latin american countries include amor.com, amigos.com, and cybercupido.com. Hope it helps!
