Have the ads in the sidebars on Yahoo Answers become obtrusive?

On some questions, the ad expands across the right two-thirds of the page, making it impossible to read the rest of the question...and clicking to get rid of the ad doesmn't help. ?????????????

I don't get to see those ads anymore!

One of my contacts is from Bangladesh, whenever I checked up on his questions or answers, I always got ads displayed afterwards of some Indian Matrimonial sites - that got me wondering, especially since I am a female German silver surfer. Then some time ago Yahoo had technical problems and accidentally placed a script in the box on the YA pages instead of the flash ads normally displayed. That's when I found out that adyield-manager is used to place personalized ads - it uses cookies to track your browsing habits, so you may get a different ad displayed than somebody sitting right next to you. That prompted me to look for solutions since I don't like to get spied upon, and I found several good solutions...

Download and install the latest Firefox browser:

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

    Also install "adblock plus":

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/186...

Result: no more annoying ads! And pages are loading much quicker too...:-)

http://www.admuncher.com/ - this adblocker for the IE (and other browsers) gets highly recommended in several forums.

    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26171/safari-... - for Safari Mac
