Well! I don't know because I'm from Northeast. But I've heard that the region more propitious to mud slides is the region of Itajaí.

mudslides occur on a few areas where people didnt take much environmental research and studies prior to building and then nature took its course, but these areas are far from being considered 'the whole state'.

if you avoid risk areas like river beds and hill foots you'll be alrite.
