Spiritually speaking, question mainly for the atheists and logical thinkers but looking for other input too?

What irrational beliefs or feelings do you have?

Is there anything in life where your head says one thing but you just "know" the opposite?

I'll go:

I hate the Yankees, but that's perfectly reasonable.

Even though it can't be literally true, there is some cabal (speculators, gamblers or investors) which fixes professional athletic games, the price of gas and the stock market.

Update:

Atheists, and others of course, state that they are rational. I say that everyone has some irrational thoughts or beliefs. Love is irrational, so is religious faith. What irrational belief do you have? Is there anything that your head says can't be but you believe anyway?

    Spiders. That's really about it.

I can't stand spiders. I know the vast majority of them are not poisonous, and are actually great for keeping the population of other bugs down, but they still "bug" me (pun intended).

I do a lot of astronomy out in the deserts/mountains, staying out all night with my telescopes. Here on SoCal where I live, in the spring there's an annual migration/mating season for tarantulas, and sometimes they march across the deserts like waves of army ants. One night out in the desert with my scopes, a little group of us doing astronomy noticed that the ground appeared to be moving...a few flashlights turned on revealed *thousands* of tarantulas migrating across our little observing spot, pausing to climb on, over, and around our cars, our chairs, and our gear. Really gave me the creepies, even though I know it's irrational. A couple of the guys stood there and let them walk over their feet and legs and were having a great time with the whole thing...me, I went into the car and locked the doors! The "wave" was gone in about two hours, and it was fascinating, but I just can't stand spiders.

    Peace.

I have strong intuition when it comes to my brother and daughter. I don't think it's anything at all to do with clairvoyance or some such, though I can't explain what it actually is - I just have a sense of when they're up to mischief, in trouble, or in need. There's absolutely no reason why I should believe my intuition's right- and it's not always -yet I still follow my instinct by checking up on them when I feel I should.

That every atom in our universe is really a whole unfathomably small universe unto itself. And conversely that our universe is just an atom in a whole unfathomably huge universe.
