The reason we had wisdom teeth was because all of our other teeth would rot away (in ancient times), and it provided a way for us to chew when all of our other teeth were gone.
Some people still get wisdom teeth, and some people get some, and some people get none like you (lucky, by the way!). This is because as we continue to evolve, our anatomy is now selecting against wisdom teeth, because we have all of our teeth when our wisdom teeth grow in, therefore they are not needed.
