how many magpies would you expect to see gathered in one place?

I ask because I saw 12plus and this is a thing I thought I'd never see.

Update:

joshy, you don't know how close you are and that may well explain it.

Magpies are a sociable bird so it's not surprising to see a large group. I often see 3 or 4 together, never seen many more than that, and they favour places where there are rabbits as they like their fur for nests, so this may have contributed to why there were so many together.
