Low fat diets usually makes you eat more calories at the end of the day and are unhealthy because your body needs some fats (Essential Fatty Acids). High fat diets are fine, you just don't need to go to the extreme either way. What counts at the end of the day is the number of calories that you ingest compared to what you burn, weather it comes from carbs or fat.
So there's not much difference either way. Fat tastes better. Just don't go with the bad fats like fried foods and rancid oils. Go for anything natural instead, like nuts, milk produce, avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, (red meat, but some people won't agree so follow what you believe)...
Low fat is all around America, but people aren't getting slimmer, it's just getting worse. Low fat is bad and unnatural.

My blood pressure and resting heart rate had gotten high. Four months on the paleo diet and crossfit my bp is 120/71 and resting heart rate of 52.
