what can i make with corn syrup? recipes too?

    Kellogg's All-Bran Muffins :

    2 tablespoons shortening

    ½ cup corn syrup

    1 egg

    1 cup Kellogg's All-Bran

    ½ cup milk

    1 cup flour

    1/3 teaspoon salt

    2 ½ teaspoons baking powder

    -- Cream shortening and corn syrup thoroughly; add egg and beat well.

    Stir in All-Bran and milk, let soak until most of moisture is taken up.

    -- Sift flour with salt and baking powder: add to first mixture and stir only until flour disappears.

    -- Fill greased muffin pans two-thirds full and bake in moderately hot oven (400° F.) about 30 minutes.

    (( Yield: 8 large muffins, 3 inches in diameter... or 13 small muffins, 2 ¼ inches in diameter...

    Cinnamon-Sugar Chips :

    6 tbs sugar

    ½ tsp. cinnamon

    6 (10-inch) flour tortillas

    1 tbs light corn syrup

    ...Serve with: applesauce as a dip!

    -- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    Mix sugar and cinnamon.

    -- Brush one side of each tortilla with corn syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture.

    -- Cut each tortilla into 6 wedges and place on baking sheet.

    Bake about 10 minutes, until golden and crisp.

    Bread Pudding :

    4 eggs

    2 cups milk

    2/3 cup honey (or 1 cup corn syrup)

    ½ tsp cinnamon

    ½ tsp vanilla

    ¼ tsp salt

    2 ½ cups cubed, toasted bread

    ½ cup raisins

    -- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

    Spray 8” round baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

    -- Beat together first 6 ingredients.

    Put bread cubes and raisins in dish; pour egg mixture over all.

    -- Bake 40-45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

    Breakfast Cookies :

    3 large ripe bananas, mashed

    2 ½ cups quick oats

    1/3 cup honey OR ½ cup sugar (or 3/4 cup corn syrup)

    1/3 cup oil OR applesauce

    1 tsp vanilla extract

    ½ tsp cinnamon

    1 tsp nutmeg (optional.. :)

    -- Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and allow to sit for 15 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

    -- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet, flatten into cookie shape.

    Bake for 20 minutes or until brown.

    ((makes abt 3 dozen cookies....

    ** VARIATION :

    Add 1 cup of chopped dates & reduce the oats to 2 cups.

    * Tip: .....If your kids like to eat raw dough, this dough is yummy!! (tried and tested lol!...); plus - it’s safe to eat this way (no eggs).

    Pecan Pie

    Ingredients -

    1 (9-inch) One-Crust Pie Shell

    2/3 cup Sugar

    1/3 cup stick Margarine or Butter, melted

    1 cup Corn Syrup

    1/2 teaspoon Salt

    3 Large Eggs

    1 cup Pecan Halves or broken pecans

    Preparation:

    1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare pastry

    2. Beat sugar, margarine, corn syrup, salt and eggs in medium bowl with wire whisk or hand beater until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pastry-lined pie plate.

    3. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until center is set.

    Fudge

    2 Cups Sugar

    2 1/2 Tablespoons dry Hershey's Cocoa

    2 Tablespoons of butter or margarine

    1/3 coup white Karo Syrup (corn syrup)

    1/2 cup condensed milk

    1 cup walnuts (shelled and chopped)

    1 teaspoon Vanilla

    Combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla. Stir together well. Bring to a vigorous boil and boil for 5 minutes.

    Remove from flame. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Beat vigorously to make it creamy. Add walnuts and vanilla. Stir and pout out onto waxed paper lined square pan.

    NOTE: Do not attempt to make cooked candies (this fudge recipe) when the weather is rainy, very cloudy or wet fog.
